MONTEVIDEO, Mar 10 (IPS) - "Nature is wise, and if we take the time to observe it, we can learn so much" is the underlying philosophy of a number of innovative programmes being carried out in Uruguayan schools that are using gardens as a teaching resource, explained Edith Moraes, director of the national Primary Education Board.

Today's students face tomorrow's climate problems

Source: Sydney Morning Herald - In the corner of a convention centre on the Eastern fringes of Melbourne, I sit with a group of middle-school students and talk about climate change and justice. The local council has organised a day for students to learn about sustainability. Behind me, another group is visible through the window, pedalling furiously atop fixed bikes and keeping a light bulb aglow.
