WISSDOM Products for Water Resource Sustainability

The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) manages water for the City of Las Vegas and its surrounding communities. SNWA came to Earth Knowledge needing to develop sustainable water-resource supplies.

Over the last 5 years, Earth Knowledge has utilized WISSDOM Technology to provide the SNWA with comphrehensive information systems and sophisticated 3D and 4D ground water models as part of an Environmental Impact Study (EIS) conducted in collaboration with the U.S. Departmet of Interior (Bureau of Land Management) and numerous other Federal, State, and local agencies. The EIS will inform decision-makers about the potential impacts of pumping ground-water resources in east-central Nevada and delivering it to the city by pipeline.

The Earth Knowledge team's experience in the region coupled with the WISSDOM technology provides a powerful suite of decision making tools to help in understanding interactions between natural water systems, wildlife, agricultural communities, and protected rivers and streams in the region.
